Southwest District Health WIC staff are looking forward to offering you and your family all the valuable benefits and services that WIC has to offer to eligible families.  The supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants and Children is a place for families to get started on the road to healthy living.  Eligible families receive tasty foods, individual or group nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referrals to community programs.

Southwest District Health’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) supplemental nutrition program serves thousands of clients at multiple locations in Adams, Gem, Washington, Payette, Owyhee and Canyon counties.

Healthy Foods

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Milk, cheese and more
  • Cereal and other whole grains
  • Peanut butter, beans and more

Tips, tricks, recipes and more tailored to you and your family’s needs about nutrition. Individual or group options available.

Registered Dietitians

Registered dietitian nutritionists are available to provide personalized care plans based on specific nutritional needs.

Referrals to Local Resources

Help finding healthcare and other community services and programs.

Breastfeeding Classes

Southwest District Health WIC program staff offers breastfeeding support classes for all expectant moms.  The classes cover breastfeeding basics, baby behaviors and safe sleep.

Peer Counselor Program

Mom to mom support for breastfeeding support is available for WIC participants. A breastfeeding support peer counselor for the WIC Program is a woman who has personal breastfeeding experience and has specialized training from WIC. A breastfeeding support peer counselor can give breastfeeding information and support to new mothers so they may achieve their breastfeeding goals. For more information, call 455-5300.
