Fluoride Varnish and Sealant Clinics

Southwest District Health has a licensed dental hygienist that provides preventative oral health service and education to children ages 6 years of age and younger in the Caldwell office. These services include fluoride varnish applications, dental screenings, cleanings and sealants.

Fluoride varnish applications, dental screenings and education is provided to WIC children ages 0 – 5 years old the first and third Thursdays each month during Mini WIC visits. There is no charge for this service.

First Teeth Matter

First Teeth Matter is a program that provides screenings and fluoride varnish to children from their first tooth to age 3.  Oral health education is provided to parents and care-givers. A nominal fee is charged to all participants. Insurance and Medicaid can be billed for this service.

School Sealant Program

The dental hygienist visits several elementary schools in our district to provide sealants, screenings and fluoride varnish applications. The dental hygienist also provides screenings and fluoride varnish applications at various daycares in District 3. Oral health education and toothbrushes are provided to all children who participate.
